Depends on how long you have been worked there? Have you accrued enough days to cover your vacation? The company may won't willing to take risk to pay you but not coming back.

You only accrued for 2.5 days then. Have you confirmed with specific dates and confirmed that you still want to be on regular payroll? If yes, then they should do differently.
