Job Description:
As one of the most popular Chinese community public websites in North America, www.westca.com is looking for an experienced, creative Social Media Writer to join our team. Job duties include:
Creating and delivering digital articles with content that aligns with WESTCA quality standards
Crafting content that appeals to various prospective of WESTCA audiences
Providing editorial support to the team including copy-editing, proofreading and updating existing content
Conducting research to establish factual content and to obtain other necessary information to ensure the authenticity of WESTCA articles
Updating and maintain social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat etc.
Collaborating with our entire team in editing and revising articles to support the design and development of the WESTCA website
Keeping up to date with current both local and international topics such as news, social media trends, digital culture, memes, celebrity gossip, hype events, newest restaurants.
Employment Requirements:
Bachelor of Art Degree in advertising or writing or communications or editing or other related disciplines.
Previous experience in writing, editorial management, copy editing, proofreading, and text publishing and distribution is preferred
Previous experience working in radio station, television station, newspapers or websites is highly desired.
Strong working knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint and Word,
Knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is an asset.
