Looking back a few weekends ago at Achilles spire! Thank you @carreradawn for the kick ass action shot of me! Love the motion captured! What a climb that was! Highly recommended if you climb 5.8 outdoors. Super easy route finding, solid, fun climbing and not too bad rapping except for the first rappel. Some advice, start hiking at 4:30 am on a weekend to be the first few parties up and it's a long day so make sure you know your multipitch and rappel system really well and don't, you know, sun tan for a hour on the summit at 4 pm... Made it out of Snoqualmie Pass! 90 miles in 3 and half days! That was a hard and eventful stretch with a lot of tiny misfortunes. Hello friends! I have an exciting news to share. In March 2018 I will be starting the Pacific Crest Trail, a US national scenic trail that spans the border of Mexico to Canada, crossing California, Oregon, and Washington. Through this journey, I want to follow my passion for the outdoors and adventure. In addition to that, I am also doing it to support ALS research. This year, my friend and co-worker Mike was diagnosed with ALS, inspiring me to follow my passion and to help stop this disease so more people can follow their passion. I am asking people to pledge an amount per mile and donate to the ALS Society of Alberta directly at the end of my 2600-mile hike. Find out more here. Just another one of those 2019 photo grids! 😂 2019 was a good year for me so I need to take the moment to summarize it and also thank all my friends in making this a wonderful year. There are way too many of you and way too many adventures to talk about it here but you know who you are! 😁 ♥ And to you guys who follow me on Instagram, giving me a platform for my voice and photography, thank you so much! 😍 Here are my top 9 highlights of 2019. 1. Mount Gordon: FIrst ski summit: 25km and 1600 meters on skis! Crossed a glacier, saw an ice cave and had a bluebird kind of day. 2. First "couloir" on skis with @chnetka. Almost had to turn back but made it up to the very top! It was pretty "coul" I would say 3. First alpine rock objective ever with @danielle.yyc and we thought it would be good to started at 4:30pm 😂 That was the objective that kicked off my summer of technical climbing 4. The Fist: When you want to go hike a easy hike (Tent Ridge) but changed your mind last minute to scramble a difficult scramble with a complete stranger. @taydolphe 5. First ever 11:30 pm start to a scramble. Got to the top of Mount Kidd for sunrise and saw this incredible inversion and the best sunrise of the year @danielle.yyc and @functorious 6. Sentinel Spire: What a cool trad multipitch! Never struggled so hard at a crux pitch. The views and the cool factor of climbing a famous spire seen by hundreds a day added to that! @chnetka 7. Mount Louis, 15 pitch (or however many, I lost count in the 18 hour day) trad multi to gain the summit of an otherwise inaccessible mountain. Need I say more? 8. Have you ever gone backpacking to a place that nobody talks about on the internet? You end up camping a cliff above a glacier with this infinite view of majestic mountains. @alexbraungolf 9. Sweet couloir with some even sweeter friends. Shredded many quarts of snow and got asked "Do you side step all the way up to the top to ski down" at the parking lot. With @krista.jayne and @nickverlaan Thank you awesome people for helping me make those memories. Without all of my new friends and old, my life would be a lot less interesting! Looking forward to making more adventures with you!

The last hitch of the PCT. I can't believe it was only 6 months ago I hitched for the first time in my life. From the first hitch, (a guy lost on his way to a meeting but still had time to pick up random hitch hikers) to wedding parties, off-duty policeman and helicopter pilots. Mode of transports included cramped middle seats, laying on a bed of camper vans and back of pick ups. Thank you to all the amazing human beings and trail angels who made me remember how good humanity is. Won't forget to #payitforward one day. Thanks Rocky for being my hitching buddy and @thejlberry for the beautiful sign 😂

So now you tell me that flying from San Diego to Vancouver is much cheaper and doesn't take 6 months... This is it! Canada! I am home in the land of toques, Timmies and poutines! This journey has been life changing beyond words. The beauty of nature, the incredible friends and the unforgettable experiences, they all came together to forge this moment. I couldn't be happier but at the same time, feel sorrow for the things I am about to leave behind. For now, a bit of relaxation and visiting friends in Vancouver and then it's time to dust off the skis and snowshoes and continue to chase and photograph adventures in the magical Rocky Mountains.
