the scam I got recently: (up to now I have got 5 or 6 such emails from contacts)

All my money, phones and credit cards, including some valuable items was stolen, It was a bitter experience but the good thing is they didn't hurt anyone or made away with my passport.
I have reported the incident to the police and the embassy here, but their response was too poor,I was ask to come back in 2 weeks time for investigations to be carried out properly, but I can't wait till then, presently I can't afford to pay my bills here and right now i am financially strapped due to the unexpected robbery attack, I need you to help me with a quick loan to sort my bills and find my way back home. All i need is around (�1,650 pounds) to settle our bills, I promise to refund you in full as soon as I get back, please let me know what you can do.

Thanks for your response,I did send you the mail,I don't have a dime on me to call or do anything,I am doing everything I could to work my way out of here peacefully,I only have access to email because it is free.. I have checked with the Embassy but there is nothing really working out all they could do was to provide accommodation till i could get help, most important is that,i don't have enough money on me and i need cash to get my return ticket renewed, please I need you to loan me some Money I will pay you back when i get back Home. All I need now is �1,650 pounds, but anything you can wire will be appreciated, You can get it wired to my name via Western union so that i can use my passport for verification here at western union outlet here in England

the sender of the first email is really my friend's email
the hacker's trick is sending email to your contacts, your contacts see the email is really from you, but if the recipient replies it, email is replied to a different shanzhai email which looks very similar to yours.( in my case, a 1 is changed to I)
so the hacker did not send email from inside your web email account, but from some tool which can specify TO and REPLY TO fields of an email.
I replied the email with "Is your email hacked?", the hacker replied soon, then I replied with Chinese, no response any more.
that means somehow the hacker got your email and contacts.
